One of the Most Important School Supplies

When you send your kids to school you make sure they have the right supplies like pencils, paper, notebooks. etc., but one of the most important things your child needs is confidence. Confidence in themselves and confidence in their abilities. Instilling confidence starts when your child is an infant and should be built upon every year thereafter. One way to instill confidence is by giving your child responsibilities. Make sure you make them age appropriate and something they can attain. Performing well at a task around the house, and receiving praise for a job well done, gives them confidence in their abilities. Another way to instill confidence is by allowing them to fail and pick themselves back up. Guiding our children through failures, either on an assignment or making a certain team or club, enables them to develop important coping skills and thus confidence that they can move forward after a set back.
